Oops, I need to post those recipes...and catch up on the last month!

I guess I should start with, I resigned from the big box and have started a new job.

There is an old adage, that 80% of any job is the people. You may have also heard the saying, "people don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad managers." That sums up the situation with the old job. I actually miss the job, some of the people, and the company - but I could not continue with the bad managers. And yes, I spoke up. It fell on deaf ears. I also tried to apply to openings at other locations, but there was a freeze on changing locations.

I chose the new job based on the fact they are voted a "Best Places to Work" in my state, and "#2 Best Place" in the industry. So, I am choosing people.

What does it say about the state of things that a company must actively coach kindness. And seek people who reflect these values.

  1. It sounds like a great move. Kindness needs to be a core value of every organization. We are the sum of our people, without that we are empty buildings, unanswered calls and emails.
