the difference is in the details

Hubby surprised me by taking the old, dated "country kitchen" top molding in the kitchen while I was at work yesterday.

I did not realize how big of a difference it would make to the look of the kitchen!

We have 42" uppers, with 108" ceilings.

By taking the old galley rail top molding off it left a clean line across the top, and opened up the space, removing the shadow on top of the cabinets.

Earlier this year we had changed out all of the hardware.
It is really hard to imagine the old look, but here is a photo I found. The lighting has also been updated, and a new fan is ready to install. The countertop will be installed next month, and new flooring.
